Evan has been on a journey that has taken him through many peaks and valleys. He has grown tremendously as a result of the education his life has given him.
The greatest thing Evan has learned is that love, in all its many facets is the greatest power in the universe. With love it is possible to draw all good things into your life. With love all things have meaning. With love there is a strength and vigor the empowers us through any and all situations we may encounter.
In October 1986, Evan was in the emergency ward of Royal Columbian Hospital, in New Westminster, BC.
He had suffered a serious, life-threatening head injury while playing hockey. He had, prior to arriving at the hospital, survived three cardiac arrests and was in a coma.
The doctors had very little expectation of his survival. They braced his family for the worst but they did not give up on Evan. As his parents stated later, they trusted that Evan was in good hands since as a child, he was ultimately in the hands of his creator and it was up to God to determine how this situation would ultimately play out.
